A good ride for hill work but with an extra loop to the North.

ALLx02 Start
Go down Slade Lane and at the junction of roads and tracks go straight ahead.

At the road, Birtles Lane, turn left and ride up the hill.

Near the top of the hill at a cross roads of lanes turn left onto Hocker Lane.

Bridleway
At the junction of Hocker Lane and Slade Lane go straight ahead on unsurfaced Hocker Lane.

At the T junction of tracks turn right up cobbled Bradford Lane.

Road
At the end of the cobbles turn left and at the T junction with Macclesfield Road take the bridle path on the left parallel to the road.

At the end of thie track turn left on Artist`s Lane then immediately right into Wndmill Wood passing through the gap beside the forestry gate.

Follow this track, keeping to the fence on the left at the edge of the wood to the foot of the slope and bear right.

At a crossing of tracks, bear left, go through the wooden bridle gate on the left and follow this to Artist`s Lane taking either the left or right track at the split.

Road
At Artist`s lane, from either track, turn left up the hill. There is a permissive path through the trees on the bank beside the lane to keep out of traffic.

When you reach the point you crossed Artist`s Lane retrace your steps to the top of Bradford Lane.

Road
Turn left on Finlow Hill and follow the road round to the left to the T junction.

At the T junction turn right keeping to the horse track on the verge.

Turn right onto Slade Lane at the cross roads, back to the layby.
